Laurie Lee Hall Appointed as Vice President of Affirmation

August 27, 2018

Laurie Lee Hall

by Carson Tueller, president of Affirmation

After much deliberation and thought, I am pleased to announce that Laurie Lee Hall has accepted the invitation to serve as Affirmation’s new Vice President, a position that has been vacant since our annual conference. Laurie’s position as vice president was ratified by the Affirmation Board of Directors during our last board meeting on August 19th, 2018.

Laurie Lee Hall was raised in New England and was trained in architecture at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in upstate New York. A practicing architect for over thirty years in New York and Utah, her career has included managing worldwide construction programs and many of the largest projects of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Today she is in private practice in Salt Lake City, UT.

Previous to accepting my invitation to serve as vice president, Laurie served as a powerful and indispensable member of Affirmation’s Board of Directors. She served as the head of our governance committee, consistently bringing insight and organizational prowess to Affirmation’s leadership team and the organization as a whole. Her skills have been key to our recent and continuing organizational development.

Along with her exceptional leadership skill and professional background, Laurie is a loving, unapologetic voice for queer people, and demonstrates a sensitive awareness for the underserved and marginalized within our community.

We are grateful for her willingness to serve with the Executive Committee in this capacity and are excited at the possibilities we can create for our community as we move forward in bringing Affirmation’s mission to fruition throughout the world.
