Sam Fullmer: “I Support Marriage Equality in Hawaii”

“I was born and raised Mormon from Provo, UT,” writes Sam. “I am now gay and I am in a committed relationship. Although I see the Mormon faith on the wrong side of this issue, I am happy to know that there are still people out there who are Mormon as well as LGBT allies. Thank you for all the support and prayers you all offer.”

Same-sex couples are today allowed to marry in 14 states, the District of Columbia, and several tribal jurisdictions, covering one third of the U.S. population. The state of Illinois will be added in June of 2014. Same-sex marriages are also recognized by many branches of the federal government and by the state of Oregon. Over 50% of Americans support the right of same-sex couples to marry.
