FTM (TransMormon) – My Positive Church Experience

by Emmett Claren
I have finally decided to talk about my experience with the Church and where I’m at spiritually today. Many of you have been asking for this, and I ask that you help me share this video and spread it to all who need to hear. I hope this helps even just one individual.
Yes, you can be Trans and Mormon, though there are many ways to do this. My journey is just one example and I hope this video can help someone who is trying to figure out their relationship with the Church.
WOW!! What a beautiful story! Thank you. You are a beautiful man and a great example to all people in and out of the church. There is so much that I do not understand about you and your experience and about me and my experience, being a gay man. I love The Gospel, but the church has been a very difficult piece to comfortably fit into my life. I continue to try and it continues to be difficult. God bless you! He knows who we are and loves us.
James here…Hello I am from a City icalled Glasgow in Great Britain.
I am proud of you and how you have come through such a tough journey.
I am 56..Same Sex Attracted Mormon and I have a Transgendered Nephew.
I can testify that you and all of us are works in progress..you are beautiful in every single way…keep going it will all be alright in the end.
Hello James….
I’m a straight, married, 56 year old LDS woman and I’m here to tell you we are all “works in progress.” Though I realize there is still a long way to go, I’m proud of the common ground we all are finding! We have 99.9% more in common than we have differences! Blessings to all!!!! Know you are loved!
Wow Emmett I just want to give you a big hug. Your video is so insightful. You are such a great person, spirit! So sensitive, intelligent. tender, wise, mature, courageous, kind and much more I am sure!
I scratch my head a lot trying to figure out all these gender issues that exist. Your experience in finding out that you were born with a male spirit explains a huge amount. I hope you find happiness throughout your life. I feel with the loving, merciful and all-knowing Heavenly Father that we have, that things will work out even on the other side. My son is gay and has removed his name from church records. I am so glad I viewed your video. It can give more understanding and compassion for LGBTQ folks experience. God knows everything and in the mean time, we are just to love!
I came to the comments expecting to find some nasty stuff.
I am a transgender youth, and I often feel unwanted or unloved by my ward.
In fact I was required to see the bishop when I came out, just to have him remind me that what I am is against the lord, and it hurt, ya know?
It makes me happy when I hear of people who are LDS and supportive of us. It means a lot.
Thank you for sharing your story. I have a trans nephew who is LDS. This video helps me understand his experience more.
