Many questions needed answers if I was going to move forward in life. The answers to prayers and questions I have asked God are not something I have trivialized or received lightly.
With a simple donation of $25 or more from all our readers, we will be able to fund many of our programs for 2015. This is your chance to help LGBT Mormons worldwide find the reconciliation, support, resources, and peace they’ve been looking for. Take advantage of this meaningful tax-deduction before the year ends! ONLY 3 DAYS LEFT!
I recently returned from an Affirmation Conference in Mexico City, and I want to share with you that I was truly humbled, moved, and more convinced than ever that the support you and I are offering through Affirmation is making a meaningful difference in the lives of LGBT Mormons worldwide. Click the link to read about Carlos, who took a 22-hour overnight bus ride from the Yucatan Peninsula to attend. (Note: A special event will be held in 2015 for all donors who gave $250 or more to Affirmation during 2014. Donate today to make sure you are invited!)
At the 2014 Affirmation International Conference, Bryce Cook, proud father of two gay sons, shares insights gathered from a survey he conducted of over 1,500 straight Mormons asking how they felt or what they thought about their LGBT family members and friends.
Affirmation does not require as a condition for membership adherence to some particular notion of the right way to be LGBTQ/SSA and Mormon. Rather, Affirmation’s purpose is to provide resources and community to empower individuals to figure those things out for themselves.
John Gustav-Wrathall was awarded with the Mortensen Award at the 2014 Affirmation Conference. “Probably John’s greatest contribution is how he has boldly proclaimed his belief that a person can be gay and Mormon, if they choose, and then has been a powerful living example of how that can be done.” Also, see the names of all the other great people who were nominated for their service!

If ever there was anyone that lacked wisdom, that needed desperately to know what was good and true it was me. So it was that on an April night I finally broke down and asked God with a sincere heart, with real intent and full vulnerability, if it was ok that I was gay.
